The 156-unit market stores are being constructed by the Wa Municipal Assembly under the Local Government Capacity Support Project (LGCSP) at a cost of GHS 1,210,000
According to the Wa Municipal Chief Executive,Mr. Issahaku Nuhu-Putiaha the market project when completed by late November this year will ease the pressure on the crowded old Wa market and boost trading activities in the municipality.
The construction of the Wa market, Kotokuraba market at Cape Coast, the Kejetia market in Kumasi and the rehabilitation and expansion of other markets across the country forms part of government’s commitment to boosting and promoting trade with its attendant benefits
At Loggu in the Wa East District, the Chief of Staff also inspected works on the World Bank sponsored Loggu Community Day SHS which has a disability friendly facility is almost near completion and will make it’s first in take of students for the 2016/2017 academic year.
The General Secretary of the NDC Mr Asiedu Nketiah took the opportunity to speak to pupils of Loggu D.A Primary and Junior High Schools (JHS) who thronged the venue of the inspection to meet the delegation
Mr Asiedu told them of the NDC administration’s commitment to education and added that the Community Day SHS would give them easy access to pursue their secondary level education after JHS.
“You must study hard and learn well”, he advised
The Upper West Regional minister and his deputy Deputy General Secretary of the NDC Mr Koku Anyidoho among other government appointees and party functionaries were part of the delegation.
